This summer, the
National Science and Media Museum in Bradford will shine a spotlight on the city’s next generation of creatives with ReelBFD: Digital Arts, Bradford Stories - an exciting new exhibition running from 14 June to 7 September 2025. Part of
the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture programme, the exhibition celebrates digital artwork created by 13- and 14-year-olds from six local schools.
Over the past two years, more than 1300 students have collaborated with professional digital artists through the Bradford Digital
Creatives project. Their creations - ranging from immersive video and soundscapes to interactive games - will now be showcased in an engaging, hands-on experience for museum visitors. The exhibition also features early drafts, storyboards, and
behind-the-scenes glimpses into the young artists’ creative processes.
In addition to the main showcase, a public programme will run from 28 July, offering workshops for visitors to create their own digitally inspired art.
This initiative is jointly delivered by the National Science and Media Museum and Born in Bradford, with funding and support from Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture, Bradford Council and Arts Council England. It aims not only to celebrate creativity but also
to prepare young people for future careers in digital and creative industries.
Admission is free with museum entry. Find out more at scienceandmediamuseum.org.uk.
