Exciting Sculpture Opportunity

Opportunity for Year 5s and secondary pupils studying art to become involved in new council sculpture.

The council is funding 5 workshops with Haworth sculptor Craig Dyson at his Haworth workshop in December.

 

Mr Dyson has worked with many local schools over the past few years on a number of high profile sculpture projects, with excellent feedback.

 

Pupils will be working with various sculpture materials throughout the day and learning various practical skills, including design.

 

Following all 5 workshops Craig will use these ideas to create a permanent large-scale sculpture which will be displayed in front of the new Department of Children’s Services building in Bradford city centre.

 

This is a high profile project in which we would welcome pupil involvement.

 

Spaces are limited to 10 pupils and 2 staff members per school.

The workshop will run at Craig’s workshop in Haworth from 10 am until 2 pm.

 

The workshops are open to Year 5 pupils and any secondary pupils who are studying art.

We are expecting high levels of interest but we can only accommodate 5 schools.

The first five schools to reply will be offered the places and further schools will be kept in reserve.

 

DEADLINE FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IS 4 PM FRIDAY 7 NOVEMBER 2015

 

Further details on the days will be given to the successful schools week beginning 10 November, enabling schools to complete risk assessments and make travel arrangements.
