It is not only Lord Sugar looking to hire an apprentice – many of Bradford’s top businesses are too.
Dozens of employers from across the region who are looking to recruit young talent will be at the Bradford District Apprenticeship Event later this month.
Aimed at Year 10 and 11 school pupils, their parents and teachers, the event is being held at Bradford City Football Club’s Valley Parade stadium on Thursday November 22 from midday to 7pm.
Visitors will get the chance to find out all about apprenticeships and what opportunities are available to teenagers when they finish school.
Leeds Bradford Airport, the NHS, Sky TV, PWC, Bradford Council Yorkshire Building Society and Skipton Building Society are among the businesses who will be there to discuss the career paths they offer. The vast range of sectors that will be represented includes
healthcare, finance, engineering, chemical, hospitality, travel and retail.
The event is being organised in joint partnership with City Training Services, which is part of Bradford College, Craven College, Shipley College, Keighley College and Bradford Council.
Karen Bracewell, Business Development Manager at City Training Services, said: “The Bradford District Apprenticeship Event is a fantastic opportunity for young people to find out about the apprenticeships available to them in and around Bradford.
"Those attending will be able to discover the brilliant opportunities that exist in our dynamic regional economy.
“We are bringing together a great range of businesses promoting their apprenticeship vacancies and visitors will also get to talk to training providers, including City Training Services, about how to find the right apprenticeship in everything from accountancy
and agriculture to dental nursing or digital marketing.”
