The Children’s Society has developed a pioneering, evidence-based, free curriculum called Beyond Gender Stereotypes (BGS).

Beyond Gender Stereotypes (BGS) is part of the Global Boyhood Initiative, coordinated by Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice. BGS supports Key Stage 2 children (ages 7–11) to understand and break free from gender stereotypes.

In addition to the 25 schools already signed up, there are 10 more places available for primary schools in England to deliver BGS in the Spring Term 2026, ahead of a full national roll-out from Autumn Term 2026. This programme also supports schools in meeting their statutory duty to teach Relationships and Health Education. I attach a one-pager and FAQs for your reference.

Interested schools will need to complete this BGS Application Form. They can also contact the BGS team at BGS@childrenssociety.org.uk. Schools will be selected on a rolling basis, so they should apply ASAP to give themselves the best chance of taking part.
