Consultation on School Admissions Arrangements for Menston Primary School

Introduction
Menston Primary School and Moorlands Learning Trust are consulting on the admissions arrangements for the school. We are committed to ensuring that our admissions arrangements are fair, transparent, and fully compliant with the Department for Education’s School Admissions Code. As part of this commitment, we are undertaking a consultation on our admissions processes for the academic year 2027/28, as per the statutory admissions code requirements, even though no changes are proposed.

Purpose of the Consultation
The purpose of this consultation is to provide stakeholders including parents, carers, staff and the wider community with an opportunity to offer any feedback on the school’s admissions arrangements. This is in accordance with the statutory requirement to consult at least once every seven years, even if no changes are being made.

Admissions Arrangements
The current admissions arrangements remain unchanged, as per our current admissions policy.

Key elements include:

  • Oversubscription criteria
  • Catchment area definitions
  • Published Admission Number (PAN) of 60
  • Application procedures and timelines

Consultation Period
The consultation will run from Wednesday 5th November 2025 to Friday 19th December 2025. During this time, stakeholders are invited to review the admissions policy and submit any comments or feedback.

How to Respond

All responses will be considered by the Governing Body and Moorlands Learning Trust before the admissions arrangements are formally determined.
