A new session has launched at Bradford District's Family Hubs, to support families struggling with their child’s school attendance. Aimed at parents/carers who are trying to find solutions to support their child, or where the school is raising concerns with the family.

This new drop-in session, hosted by Bradford Council’s School Attendance team, will offer parents and carers non-judgmental support and advice on the following:

  • A safe space to discuss worries or seek advice
  • Putting families in touch with services that provide support
  • An impartial link to support conversation with their child’s school
  • Connecting families with an attendance support worker

The sessions are for parents and carers of children aged 5 to 16 who attend, or are enrolled at, a school in the Bradford District. (Alternative services are available to support families where their child is not enrolled at school.)

Professionals are also welcome to drop in at the sessions for advice and information.

As this is a drop-in session, families and professionals do not need to book. Sessions will be held weekly across the Bradford district’s Family Hubs (during term time only).

Please check the Family Hub timetables for more information about upcoming sessions, or visit the What’s On guide on the FYI website: Education drop-in (school attendance).

Please promote this session with families where school attendance is a challenge.
