‘Writing and refining your school Climate Action Plan’
A Bradford District Schools’ Climate Action Event
Thursday 6th November 2025, 10:00-14:00, Bradford City Hall, BD1
This sharing-the-learning event is free to attend for staff working in schools across Bradford District
About the event:
We would like to give staff in your school the opportunity to attend this upcoming event which has been designed to help you and your school implement a robust Climate Action Plan (CAP) by the end of 2025, in line with the new Department for Education
guidance.
Whether you have yet to start writing yours, or are now looking for ideas and inspiration to make your existing CAP more effective and robust, this event will feature a series of workshops, talks, shared learning and stalls that will cover the 4 pillars
of climate action, as well as a focus on learner-voice based approaches such as eco-committees:
- Improving the environment and biodiversity
- Climate Education and Green Careers
- De-carbonisation and Sustainable Options - energy efficiency and reducing bills
- Adaption and Resilience to extreme weather and climate change
Suggested audience:
The event is free to attend and is suitable for staff from all school settings in Bradford District regardless of the current stage and status of your climate action plan. The DFE Guidance states that all schools should have a ‘named sustainability lead’
by the end of 2025, and this person could make an ideal representative for your school. The event would also be beneficial to school business managers, governors, PSHE leads and members of your leadership team.
