We are a well-established outdoor education centre located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

The centre offers day visits, half-week and full-week residentials. All our activity programmes build aspects of the national curriculum in to them. For example, geography – rivers and valleys, or PHSE – essential life skills. These are fundamental parts of a trip to the centre. Support in your planning is offered from booking to help you have the necessary paperwork in place to ensure a successful trip. You are invited to the centre prior to your visit to familiarise yourself with the site and so that we can collaboratively build a programme that best meets your school and children’s needs. Look on our web site to discover ‘what a typical visit includes’.

The centre has 68 beds across three floors. There is a cosy lounge with log-burning stove, 2 dining/class rooms, a gift and tuck shop. The annexe part of the building has additional toilet and shower facilities, a drying room and further classroom base that has a large Smart TV. There is also our kit stores. On arrival everyone is equipped with boots and waterproofs. We have ample wellington boots too. There is no need for parents and families to spend extra money on these items. If staying residentially all bedding is provided.

We have two catering options available at the centre. You are welcome to self-cater using our large fully-equipped kitchen. There are induction hobs, two ovens and two deep fat fryers along with a walk-in fridge and upright/chest freezers. Alternatively, you can be catered and we work closely with the Buck Inn, who can provide your evening meals and lunches. They provide a range of menus choices and are able to cater for a range of dietary requirements.

Activities on offer include:

  • Climbing
  • Caving
