The aim of the CPD is to give Primary School teachers and staff an increased confidence to take their learners on the train.

Location: Coleman Training Development, 1 The Interchange, Nelson Street, Floor 2, The North Wing, Bradford, BD1 5AX

Aim of the CPD: Give Primary School teachers and staff an increased confidence to take their learners on the train.

Who is the training ideally aimed at? Educational Visits Co-ordinator (or equivalent) and/ or Careers Lead – however any Primary staff member is invited.

How will the event benefit your school and learners?

  • Raise awareness of careers on the railway
  • Prepare learners to use trains safely and confidently for future careers travel e.g. travelling to and from a job
  • Increase awareness of helping the environment and how the rail industry is a form of sustainable travel
  • Reduce costs for school trips and external visits e.g. use the rail network rather than a coach.

What will I learn during this CPD?

  • How to plan a train journey
  • Group travel - ticketing
  • Accessibility on the rail network
  • Sharing good practice
  • Careers on the railway
  • Resources/ risk assessments will be shared after the event, that can be used across your school.
