Aim of the CPD: Give Primary School teachers and staff an increased confidence to take their learners on the train.
Who is the training ideally aimed at? Educational Visits Co-ordinator (or equivalent) and/ or Careers Lead – however any Primary staff member is invited.
How will the event benefit your school and learners?
- Raise awareness of careers on the railway
- Prepare learners to use trains safely and confidently for future careers travel e.g. travelling to and from a job
- Increase awareness of helping the environment and how the rail industry is a form of sustainable travel
- Reduce costs for school trips and external visits e.g. use the rail network rather than a coach.
What will I learn during this CPD?
- How to plan a train journey
- Group travel - ticketing
- Accessibility on the rail network
- Sharing good practice
- Careers on the railway
- Resources/ risk assessments will be shared after the event, that can be used across your school.
