Since self publishing his children's book, The Loving Earth in 2023, Deane Narayn-Lee has been visiting Bradford schools without charge for his time. Deane, a retired teacher is on a mission to support Bradford's to improve literacy skills across the Authority.

This beautifully illustrated story about human impact on the environment provides an ideal opportunity for schools to link the message to their Science or Environmental aspects of the curriculum. As a retired Language teacher, Deane has thought carefully about opportunities to develop Literacy skills in activities related to the text. He has developed a powerpoint of suggested activities related to climate change.

In return, schools buy copies of the book and ebook. They also facilitate an opportunity for parents to buy a signed copy either by pre-ordering or a session after school, or both.

Generally, the half day visit will comprise an assembly or assemblies, depending on the size of school, and a couple of drop ins to classes who may be working on activities previously mentioned.

Deane is now taking bookings into April, May and June.
