Do you know someone who is an Unpaid Carer and in need of support improving their Digital Skills?
*An unpaid carer is anyone who cares for someone who is ill, disabled, older, has mental health concerns or is experiencing addiction and is not paid by a company or local authority to do this (this does not include receiving carer’s allowance).
Primarily, this is a family member or friend.
Carers can benefit from a new project aiming to support them to increase their skills and confidence in using IT. As daily activities from banking to booking health appointments increasingly rely on using digital platforms, it can be challenging for those
who aren’t confident using technology. The Carers’ Resource Digital Inclusion project aims to support carers to improve their digital skills and knowledge through group, drop-in and one to one sessions.
Over the next 12 months, Carers’ Resource will be offering free, fun, informal Digital Inclusion sessions across the Bradford District. Alternatively, if you have a group of parents who would benefit from support and a space available to
deliver the sessions in, our team can come to you.
- Some of the areas the sessions can cover include:
- Navigating devices and getting online.
- Completing online forms and setting up online accounts.
- Keeping safe online and identifying scams.
- Using GP and NHS Apps, ordering medications and accessing online wellbeing support.
