Dive into a day of inspiration to celebrate Malcolm X’s 100th birthday and the enduring impact of the American Civil Rights Movement. Through expert talks, students will uncover the historical context of civil rights activism, exploring key figures and pivotal
moments. They will learn about Malcolm X’s journey from his tumultuous youth to his legacy as a champion for Black empowerment and social justice, examining the enduring relevance of his work in today’s society.
The day will also highlight the evolution of race relations, connecting historical struggles to contemporary movements, including Black Lives Matter. Conclude the day with a poetry workshop, crafting artistic responses to themes of activism and anti-racism.
