Positive Handling Training to be run at Sandy Lane Primary School on 27th February 2025 - 1 day course - £95.00 per person. Refreshments and lunch provided. Start time 9.15am, finish time 3.00pm.

By the end of the training course, participants will be better prepared and able to:-

  • Understand and use appropriate protocols when it comes to managing difficult situations
  • Have an understanding of tips and tools to de-escalate volative situations
  • Know how to present robust due diligence for Inspections
  • Carry out practical techniques to manage aggressive situations
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the legal aspects
  • Report incidents and near misses in an effective and professional manner

  • The Aggression Curve
  • The SCARF Model
  • De-escalation
  • DFES Guidance
  • The Health and Safety at Work Act in relation to physical intervention
  • De-escalation script - practical
  • Non restrictive holds
  • Positional Asphyxiation
  • Techniques to be used
  • The searching policy
  • Personal Safety
