Portage - A Small Steps Approach to Learning for children with SEND

This 2 day workshop and follow up session is open to anyone working with young children with additional needs /disabilities and their families. It covers the core curriculum set out by the National Portage Association. The course is very relevant for parents and all Early Years Practitioners, SENC

The course will cover –
 

  • The Portage Model
  • Working in Partnership with parents/carers
  • Agreeing long term goals and writing clear teaching targets
  • Helping children learn by the small step approach (task analysis)
  • Specialist teaching techniques
  • Play for children with additional needs
  • Recording and evaluating children’s developmental progress

The course fee also includes National Portage Association (NPA) course booklet and NPA registered Certificate.

An administration fee of £30 will be charged for non-attendance and cancellation up to 5 days prior to the training course. Cancellation should be made by emailing EducationalPsychologyTeam@bradford.gov.uk or alternatively via your booking on the Skills4Bradford website. N.B. if cancelling via the Skills4Bradford website you must type in the reason for the cancellation prior to saving.
