Our speakers:

Dea Nielsen

Dea Nielsen is a Research Fellow at the University of York, and her research has focused on young children’s early language development and interventions in the early years. She has been a member of the Better Start Bradford Innovation Hub since 2016, and has extensive experience of early intervention development, implementation, and evaluation. She has a particular interest in children learning an additional language in early childhood, and champions the importance of considering the needs of multilingual families when working in the early years space. She will be sharing what research says about the development of young multilingual children, considerations when working with and supporting these children, and general principles of importance for early years intervention.
