Calling all Under 18’s! Inviting all Primary and Secondary Schools in the Bradford Metropolitan District to take part in the City of Bradford Festival of Talent 2024.

This has grown in popularity and excellence since it was created in 2014 when Mrs Elizabeth M Sharp was Lady Mayoress of Bradford.

It is her dream and ambition to create and provide a platform where every girl and boy, no matter how young, can take to the stage and experience the magic of performance, whatever the genre.

The Festival of Talent is free to enter and all acts are welcome, whether vocal, theatrical, dance or instrumental, in solos, duos, groups, bands or choirs. We want them all. We ask only that the performances have been originated by the performers themselves and are not of the teachers’ design. We welcome teachers’ participation only in conducting or accompaniment roles, or as a single band member instrumentalist.

Each school is allowed to submit a maximum of four acts to the Competitions, which will be held on two successive Thursday evenings in November 2024, one for each age group. (21st for Primary and 28th for Secondary).

Each performer will receive a certificate and medallion and both winners and runners-up will receive a keepsake trophy.

Both winners will be invited to reprise their performances at the prestigious Schools Prom at St George’s Hall next March. They will also be invited to bring their teachers and parents to City Hall for a civic Reception hosted by the Lord Mayor.

The Primary School's poster can be viewed and download by clicking here and the Secondary School's poster can be viewed and download by clicking here and Entry Forms by clicking here

We want to involve the entire Bradford community in these Competitions and make them known to every girl and boy who cherish secret yearnings of stardom but who believe they will never have the opportunity.

We aim to make the Competitions as glitzy and glamorous as possible, an evening of excitement to remember!

All performances will be filmed, subject to parental approval, and the images will be screened on the city centre Big Screen as soon thereafter as possible.

The Grand Finals will be held at the Caroline Street Social Club, Saltaire. Parking adjacent.

The closing date for entries will be included on the Entry Form. As these dates do not fall on a Friday, we will observe an earlier than usual start time so that the primary children are not kept out too late on a weekday evening.

If you would like further information, please feel free to call Mrs Elizabeth M Sharp, the Chair on 01943 872067, leaving a short message if she is not unable to take your call. she will get back to you. Alternatively, why not email: elizabeth.sharp360@btinternet.com
