INTRODUCTION TO DOWN SYNDROME

· Introduction to Down syndrome - secondary school & college (FREE), 25th Sept

The session will introduce Down syndrome to people who have little experience of working with children and young people who have Down syndrome. They will cover society’s view of Down syndrome, health implications, inclusion, the specific learning profile of people with Down syndrome highlighting strengths and weaknesses in the classroom and outlining ways to ensure your teaching meets their learning needs. 

Promoting positive behaviour and managing behaviours will also be discussed. This is vital training for all involved in the education, inclusion and development of a person with Down syndrome.
