The cost of the training will be subsidised and only the Language Builder book (which each delegate requires) and the accreditation fee will be charged which amounts to £101.50 per delegate.
The Communication and Interaction Team have delivered the Elklan courses in the past and they have been very popular and impactful for schools.
The training is designed for SENDCo’s, Teachers and TAs and provides a range of strategies to support the Speech and Language development of pupils aged 5-11years.
Speech and Language continues to be an increasing area of need for pupils in schools. As pressure on services increases, it can take time for pupils to access Speech and Language Therapy,
‘as of February 2024, 72,661 children and 20,648 adults were waiting for Speech and Language Therapy’ (UK Government and Parliament Petitions). It is, therefore, crucial that staff in schools understand and can support a
range of speech and language needs. The Elklan course provides staff with necessary skills to do this.
