We are delighted to be recruiting for our 2024-25 Secondary Schools Linking Programme.
We can offer the programme free of charge to all secondary schools in the Bradford District. We have the capacity to closely support
12 links. Each link programme takes place within a term or half term.
Our Secondary School Linking Programme is designed to break down barriers and to enable students to build empathy, respect, and confidence in contact with others.
The programme is flexible, fully resourced and delivers SMSC outcomes for students. Through taking part in the Secondary Schools Linking Programme, students will create connections with other students who they would not normally get a chance to meet and
develop critical thinking, explore identity, and celebrate commonality.
Participating schools have joined for a range of reasons including as part of their antiracism strategy, to strengthen their student’s understanding of how others see and experience the world or in order to build students' social confidence and well being.
The programme is based on evidence which demonstrates that effective social contact is one of the most effective approaches to reduce prejudice in young people.
You may choose to link with another school or choose to link within your school -this would help with building relationships between students from different backgrounds in school.
The Linking Network will:
-
Support you in finding a link school.
-
Provides free twilight CPD training and support with planning for linked teachers.
-
Help you lead a thoughtful and enjoyable linking programme which best suits their students.
-
Provide all the resources needed to link as well as access to a wide range of PSHE online resources.
Please contact Liz.firth@thelinkingnetwork.org.uk for an informal chat or to sign up for linking for the coming school year.
