Bradford residents will have the opportunity to stand together and celebrate the men and women, both past and present, who serve our country. They will also have the opportunity to make their own personal pledge of support to the Armed Forces community.
Stalls will be available offering family friendly activities along with exhibitors from across the district providing information on the heritage of the district and showcasing work to preserve the memory of those who have served, including our local Covenant
Partnership.
Market stall holders will be selling a range of produce and there will also be a climbing wall and face painting for youngsters to enjoy free of charge and the Hall Royd Band to entertain the crowds.
The event is hosted by Shipley Town Council with support from Bradford Council.
Lord Mayor of Bradford Cllr Bev Mullaney will open the event.
Lord Mayor Cllr Mullaney said: “We have many currently serving personnel and armed forces veterans across the Bradford District. This is our opportunity to show them our support, celebrate their contribution and to give our thanks for the magnificent role
our armed forces play every day and the sacrifices made by so many. We hope people come to Shipley and support this event.”
Joe Ashton, Town Clerk for Shipley Town Council added: “We’re delighted to be hosting this year’s Armed Forces Day event in Shipley and look forward to a great day showing our respect and gratitude for those who have served and who continue to serve in our
armed forces.”
