Please join us with guest, Richard O’Neill to celebrate Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month 2024.

Richard O’Neill is a master storyteller brought up in the nomadic storytelling tradition. He has made and continues to make a huge contribution to the art of storytelling across the world. Richard is also an author, scriptwriter, lyricist and playwright. His writing for children and adults has been critically acclaimed in the UK, USA and mainland Europe.

Richard will start with an introduction and overview of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller history and culture. He will follow with stories and anecdotes which will provide a unique and rarely heard insiders perspective into some of the most marginalised and misunderstood communities in Europe. Richard will be looking at the importance of communication on working relationships with Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities followed by some good practice examples. The session will conclude with time for Q & A.
