On Thursday 4 July, 10:00 - 14:15, join Bradford Literature Festival at St George's Hall for Performance Poetry, an interactive event tailored to the Key Stage 3 & 4 national curriculum for English and spoken language. Each
Education Programme event offers students the chance to engage with amazing, life-changing topics, ideas and literature.
Performance Poetry is an opportunity to immerse students in the universal language of poetry through direct, first-hand access to some of the most exciting and innovative poets of our time, each bringing a unique flair to the stage.
Through performances, workshops and masterclasses which bridge the gap between centuries-old verses and contemporary beats, student will explore the elegance of Shakespeare’s sonnets and the visionary mysticism of William Blake; enjoy the electrifying beats
and rhythms of hip-hop, and poetry in translation from diverse cultures. Expect impassioned, inspirational lyrical styling as we push the boundaries of poetry and re-mix the genre.
BLF's Education Programme is free to all non-fee-paying schools, education groups and home educators throughout Yorkshire. BLF also welcomes fee-paying schools to enjoy this fantastic opportunity at a set ticket price per student.
BLF's Education Programme events are popular and places are limited, so book now to avoid disappointment.
