Bradford Literature Festival is delighted to invite you to book on to the 2024 Education Programme, a series of interactive events tailored to the National Curriculum and with free teachers' resource packs included.
Our events for Key Stages 3 & 4 will be held at St. George's Hall, Bradford, and run from Friday 28 June to Friday 5 July.
BLF’s Education Programme events are popular and places are limited, so book now to avoid disappointment.
All events are free for non-fee-paying schools to attend.
This year’s Secondary Education Programme events are:
- The Gothic (English Literature - Friday 28 June)
Featuring expert insights into the cultural and historical contexts that birthed tales of suspense and horror, Gothic Day provides an overview of genre conventions, tropes, settings and character archetypes, as well as its influence in art, media and contemporary
culture.
- Climate Change: From Science to Solutions (Science, Citizenship and Literature - Tuesday 2 July)
An exploration into the heart of one of the most pressing challenges of our time, intertwining science, activism, and imagination to unravel the complexities of climate-related issues.
- Shaking Up Shakespeare (English, Drama and History - Wednesday 3 July)
Shakespeare isn’t meant to be read; it was written be performed. This series of interactive talks, workshops and performances will plunge you into the thrilling world of drama and bring the bard’s plays to life.
- Performance Poetry (English and Spoken Language - Thursday 4 July)
An opportunity to immerse students in the universal language of poetry through direct, first-hand access to some of the most exciting and innovative poets of our time, each bringing a unique flair to the stage.
- Stand Up and Be Counted (History, PSHE, Citizenship and English - Friday 5 July)
Become a changemaker and unleash the power of your voice as you learn from motivational speakers and activists how you can make a difference in your school, community and beyond.
