Do you want to become a Bikeability Instructor?
To become an Instructor, you MUST be able to answer YES to the following questions.
- Are you a competent cyclist with experience of cycling in modern traffic conditions?
- Are you able to communicate easily with children and adults?
- Do you have a basic understanding of bicycle maintenance?
- Are you prepared to take part in a 4-day training course, Level 2 1st4Sport Award in Instructing Cycling Training? (a bursary is available).

- Bikeability Instructors normally work in schools between the hours of 08.30 – 15.30.
- Bikeability is delivered throughout the year but there is a peak in the spring and summer terms.
- You should be available to work at least 4 days per week during the peak season.
- Instructors are paid a daily rate currently £90.00.
- Instructors are self-employed.
- You must be able to transport yourself across the district (we do not pay mileage or travel time).
Any offer will be subject to an informal interview and satisfactory references, a DBS check will be required.
You will need: an emergency first aid certificate and a child protection safeguarding certificate.
