Moderation and Assessment Training

The following training is available to support schools in making effective assessments in writing and maths. In the past this training has been offered to Y2 and Y6 teachers only, however this year we are extending that to all year groups from Y1 – Y6. All sessions will incorporate a training element around year group expectations plus an opportunity for teachers to cross moderate, which will be supported by the LA’s moderation team. Training is open to year group teachers, assessment leads and senior leaders.

Not only will this help schools to identify next steps but will also help in quality assuring their assessments.

Teachers will need to bring workbooks for pupils ranging from PKS to GDS to enable cross moderation.

The Y6 training will also cover elements of the statutory moderation process and expectations if schools are selected.
