On Saturday 22nd July Knowles Park will host the inaugural HWD Fest, a new annual family festival by The Holmewood Collective and supported by Bradford Council, Clarion Housing, Incommunities and Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership.
Families can expect a fun-filled day of activity for children and adults of all ages including: music, dance and poetry on the main stage from performers Kemmi Gill, Dance United, Haze Da Martian, All Star Youth, Hassan and Yorkshire Martyrs Cheer and more;
storytelling on the Bradford Stories Bus with authors Sophy Henn and Dan Freedman; sports competitions from Bradford Bulls, Holme Wood Town and a penalty shoot-out against Billy Bantam by Bradford City Football Club; live painting with United Art Project and
the HE.ARTists; theatre from Spin Arts and Keira Martin and their show ‘The Other’ performed with a beautiful horse and cart; and craft with The Valley Project and their Cardboard City.
The festival will also feature stalls and activities from a range of other local partners including: Realise Training who are bringing the Realise Bus and a whole host of outdoor games; West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue and their fire engine; Bradford Health
Trust Early Education will be holding music sessions for young children throughout the day; Stronger Communities who want to hear your ideas about how to improve the Bradford District; Emerge, the Bradford charity for young people, will be running a coconut
