The BLN work closely with colleagues in the Curriculum Innovation team who are experts in Online Safety in schools and are accredited Online Safety mark assessors. This year we commissioned them to create 5 workshops/webinars to deliver to BLN customers
supporting the safe and effective use of the BLN network.
These sessions were:
- Filtering and monitoring in schools
- Introduction to the 360safe online safety self-review tool
- Introduction to Project Evolve (online safety curriculum materials for schools)
- An introduction to cyber security in schools
- Utilising and managing data in the cloud
The first 3 sessions were delivered via Teams earlier this academic year and were well received. However, we are aware that many people were unable to attend the sessions due to other diary commitments and so the BLN requested all future sessions (and the
first 3) be made available as online learning courses free to BLN customers on the Skills4Bradford platform.
We are pleased to inform you that the first of these courses, An introduction to Cyber Security in schools, is now available to access.
This course is an overview of the DfE expectations and guidance of the systems schools should have in place to protect against cyber attacks and is aimed as SLT but would be useful for technical support teams and staff with responsibility for safeguarding,
data protection and online safety.
To book onto the course visit the training section of the
www.skills4bradford.co.uk site and select Bradford Learning Network as the course provider, or click
here. Note as your school has to have a BLN contract you will need to be logged in to book your place. You can either request a login here - https://skills4bradford.co.uk/Enquiry/SignUp or
ask your Business Manager to book you onto the course.
