Network Meetings to support Teaching Assistants with teaching mathematics

For the academic year 2023/2024

For the academic year 2023-2024, there will be mathematics workshops for teaching assistants from across Bradford and beyond. It will provide them with the opportunity to network and support one another. Schools attending will have input into what we will discuss and the foci of what we consider. This will be complemented by messages, ideas and resources that the course leader will share with them.

• The meetings will take the form of two half-day sessions and there will be eight options to choose from, for each session, to allow schools to be able to send multiple delegates out of school at different times.
• We will be considering how to teach concepts as opposed to just helping children to get the answer as well as how to give children independence by support and scaffold rather than doing it for them.
• Both sessions will include the course leader modelling teaching and learning techniques with children as modelling is a very powerful form of CPD&L
• The cost is £35 per session – session 1 and session 2 can be accessed at any point during the year but do need to be in chronological order – a total of £70 for both sessions
