Writing for Pleasure the Leaders Edition

Writing for Pleasure: English Leaders’ Edition is a workshop built around creating teachers who care about the soul of writing, a workshop designed to unlock the potential of every writer, and a workshop for collaboration – school-to -school getting real life feedback from the chalkface.

Dan Paton has already led several very successful English workshops for teachers new to Key Stage 2 and ECTs, now it is the leaders opportunity to make a difference to how English is taught across the whole school.

What’s the point in writing? Genuine question.

Writers need to be taught to write for different purposes, so they fully understand what the point of their hard work is for.

Through Writing for Pleasure, writers are exposed to a variety of high-quality text-types, learning from the best of the best, as they journey towards their independent writing.

Over 3 full days this training will help you to:

Deliver an engaging & exciting curriculum that helps to promote Writing for Pleasure.

Encourage imagination in the ways that learners think and compose as writers.

Encourage children to be confident communicators and articulate in how they express themselves.

Provide children with essential, lifelong skills in spelling, punctuation & grammar.

Develop the children’s understanding of the writing process.

Training will be held at Sandy Lane Primary School, lunch and refreshment will be provided each day. Session will be held on Monday 3rd July, Tuesday 4th July with the final session being held in the Autumn Term
