The Pol-Ed Programme is a FREE PSHE educational resources which has been written by PSHE specialist teachers to be delivered by teachers. The material fits all the requirements of the PSHE curriculum but is quality assured by West Yorkshire Police for legal accuracy.

Pol-Ed has been produced by West Yorkshire Police utilising funding from the Proceeds of Crime scheme and access is provided to all schools in West Yorkshire FREE of charge, we currently have over 60% of Primary and Secondary schools in West Yorkshire signed up to the programme. Pol-Ed was set up around 4 years ago and throughout that time we have been gathering feedback from practitioners in order to ensure the resources are up to date and the product is fit for purpose. In 2023 we embarked on a complete refresh of the Pol-Ed provision with a brand new stand alone website which contains redesigned materials developed by our PSHE specialist teachers and quality checked by the Learning and Development Team at West Yorkshire Police for legal accuracy.

Pol-Ed recently hosted a conference at Headingley stadium in Leeds to showcase the new materials and website, invitations were sent out county wide to educators and associated professional bodies. The event attended by CEO’s from several of the major Multi Academy Trusts in West Yorkshire, numerous Head teachers and PSHE leads from both Primary and Secondary across the district. This was alongside representatives from the Department for Education, The National Education group, HMICFRS, The College of Policing, Senior policing leaders from the neighbouring counties and the educational development leaders from all 5 local authorities.

We understand that we were not able to accommodate every primary and secondary school at the conference so we have developed a series of roadshow events within each of the 5 districts of West Yorkshire to be able to bring the content and exciting message of Pol-Ed closer to the schools.

Our event will cover the majority of the material which was presented at the conference but in a 1-hour timeframe, allowing us to showcase all the new material and website and to demonstrate the unique attributes of the Pol-Ed programme which will complement and enhance your existing PSHE delivery.
