The main aims of Child Friendly Bradford are to ensure that Bradford is a place where our children and young people: - Feel that their voices are heard and respected - Feel safe and cared for - Are able to live a healthy life - Are empowered to learn and have fun

We would love you and your students to be part of this work and so are inviting you to a Participation Day on Wednesday 23rd November, 12.30 to 16.30, at Bradford City Football Club Valley Parade, to have an active role in the discussions and decision-making. The day will also be attended by senior decision-makers from Bradford District and will be hugely important for the future planning related to children and young people. We would be delighted if you are able to come along on the day and to support a small group of students from your school or college to attend. Please respond using this Eventbrite link, booking a place for everyone (students and staff) you would like to bring, informing us of any special dietary or accessibility requirements that your group may have.

To run alongside this, we are running a competition to design a logo for Child Friendly Bradford, which will be used across the District on any materials relating to the Child Friendly status. We would like the logo of Child Friendly Bradford to be created by one or more of our children or young people to reflect their voices and show us what being a Child Friendly City means to them. In order to do this, we need your help to support your students to get creative!

We are asking each school or college to enter up to three logos designed by an individual, group or class. These logos will then be entered into a city-wide competition where Bradford Council will select the overall winning entry.

The results of the logo competition will be announced during Child Friendly Bradford Participation Day on Wednesday 23rd November.

We have attached a poster which you may choose to use to advertise the logo competition within your setting: please could you distribute these in whichever way you think best. There are two sections of the poster that you need to fill in as they are setting-specific:

1.       The closing date for submissions. We would like your top three entries to be submitted to Bradford Council by 21st October so please select an appropriate date that will allow yourselves time to choose your top three entries.

2.       The method of submission. We are happy for electronically designed or hand drawn logos (as long as they can be scanned to create electronic versions).

Please submit your top three entries to ChildFriendly@bradford.gov.uk by 21st October 2022. Good luck!
