This is a joint event between the European Team-Based Learning Community (ETBLC) and the Erasmus+ funded TALENT Project (designed to pilot TBL in secondary schools) to bring TBL educators together from across different educational settings to learn from
the experiences of TBL educators and researchers in schools, colleges, and universities, as well as promote the outcomes and outputs of the TALENT Project.
Team-Based Learning (TBL) is a special form of active and collaborative learning using a sequence of individual work, group work and immediate feedback.
TBL is designed to actively engage students and create a motivational framework in which they hold each other accountable for attending class prepared and willing to contribute to discussion, problem-solving and shared decision-making.
The Programme will include:
- Keynote from Dr Steve Cayzer, University of Bath and National Teaching Fellow
- Parallel Introductory or Advanced TBL Workshop
- Oral Presentations from TBL Practitioners/Researchers
- Poster and Pitch Presentations Showcasing resources to develop TBL teachers
- Showcasing curricula resources for use in secondary schools and colleges
Of course, if you or your colleagues are using TBL and are interested in contributing an abstract for either a 10-minute oral presentation or a ‘Poster and Pitch’ about a TBL research/SoTL project, then please do consider submitting an abstract.
Abstracts are welcomed up until 9am on Monday 17th October and can be submitted here
Registration for the event is free (with a free lunch) and is now open via Eventbrite.
Please do circulate this within your networks as appropriate – thank you.
