The course will provide a basic theoretical framework to help practitioners consider some of the influencing factors that have a devastating impact on the physical and mental health on children and how this affects future prospects.
Childhood should be the happiest time in a person's life yet for many children who develop social, emotional and mental health disturbance the reality is very different. The course will provide a basic theoretical framework to help practitioners consider some of the influencing factors that have a devastating impact on the physical and mental health on children and how this affects future prospects. We will begin to explore the impact of Adverse Childhood Experience along with significant trauma and loss and how these experiences impact on daily living for our most vulnerable children. By recognising the signs and symptoms, practitioners will then begin to re-examine approaches that may address this inequality.
