Developing a Bradford Cultural Offer to schools

Bradford Council is looking to develop a Council wide cultural offer that can be accessed by schools across the district in conjunction with CapeUK.

CapeUK,  is an Arts Council England (ACE) funded ‘bridge’ organisation for Yorkshire and the Humber  and  have  been tasked by ACE to use their expertise to  support partnership  working  across the arts, cultural and education sectors in local authorities across the region to  enable  a clear articulation of a local  arts and cultural offer to teachers, parents  and  young people , to assist improvement in education attainment and increase access and inclusion to arts and cultural activities.

As a kick-start to this offer we want to hold a Cultural Education  joint planning  session for both school managers and cultural partners (including museums, libraries, arts, cultural, film and heritage organisations) from across the district at Future House on Friday 26 June 10.30 am -13.30 pm.

Further details of the day will be sent nearer to the time but will include presentations from Headteachers/senior leaders on what a good cultural offer looks like for their own school setting and what it means for pupils’ attainment and engagement.

Claire Price of CapeUK will take  participants  through a 'Design Thinking' process to identify key opportunities and barriers and, most importantly, to generate solutions, clear actions and the next steps  for an  emerging network/local cultural education partnership.
