To be completed by: Tue 02 Feb 2021

Time: -Tue 02 Feb 2021 | Venue:

The ONS (Office for National Statistics) have developed The Census Secondary Education Programme.

This is a unique opportunity to help teachers and young people understand how census information is used to make decisions across society and impact on the things that matter to them.

The programme will:

  • Excite and educate young people aged 11-18 about the importance of the Census, for them and their communities.
  • Inspire with flexible, free activities, developed with young people and teachers, that highlight the power students have to make change happen through the Census.
  • Provide real-world context for young people’s learning with lesson activities, film, and a competition linking to a range of curriculum subjects such as PSHE, Maths and History

What is Census 2021?

The next census is taking place on Sunday 21 March 2021. The census is a survey that happens every 10 years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. This helps to plan and fund public services in your area. By spreading the word and taking part in the census, you’ll help make sure your community is counted and gets the services it needs.

By registering your school, you’ll have access to free resources that can also be used for remote learning.

To find out more and register your school to take part, visit www.censuseducation.org.uk.
