We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
Alongside the suite of training we are offering as outlined below we also have the following opportunities for schools:
Subject leader training for both writing and maths. Writing continues to prove one of the most challenging of the core subjects. The training will support subject leads in ensuring a consistent and progressive curriculum that focuses on the essential elements for each year group.
Analysis of maths SATS papers has highlighted a number of key mathematical areas that are causing the most difficulties. The training addresses these and again looks at progression and development of skills and knowledge across the school.
Non Statutory Moderation
OUTLINE
With the removal of statutory moderation at both EYFS and KS1 we are offering non statutory moderation for Y1 - Y6 to support schools with effective assessment and to quality assure judgments made. This will take place in school during the summer term. Dates will be agreed between the moderator and the school.
DESCRIPTION
Schools will receive a visit from experienced moderators who will carry out moderation in line with the structure of a statutory moderation visit. The process will be collaborative with professional discussion playing a key role. Schools can select single or multiple year groups and, for KS1, single or multiple subjects.
Year 1 and Year 2 will cover reading, writing and maths
Years 3,4,5,6 will cover writing
