The Bradford Museums Schools Team are open for bookings for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027! We would love to welcome as many learners as possible, supporting teachers to enrich their schools offer. Sites are booking up quickly, so please get in touch if you'd like to make an enquiry.

In particular, Cliffe Castle, The Industrial Museum and Bolling Hall have very limited availability for the rest of 2026. 2027 is also booking up quickly. To enquire about a workshop here, or at the fantastic Cartwright Hall, please contact the schools learning team on [email protected].

You can read more about the workshops on offer here, but some new highlights include:

  • Ancient Egyptian Civilisation at Cliffe Castle. This newly redeveloped to focus on life in Ancient Egypt and the provenance of the mummified person on display at Cliffe Castle is proving to be very popular. It's fantastic to see learners engaging with big ethical questions such as whether museums should display human remains.
  • The Battle of Hastings and Medieval Bradford at Bolling Hall. Step inside life in medieval Bradford and discover families destroyed by plague and families who thrived in the chaos of war. Learn about Ilbert de Lacy, the man gifted Bradford as a reward for his bravery in the Battle of Hastings!
  • Faith and Art in Islam at Cartwright Hall. Learners explore the Islamic faith and the rich artistic traditions of the Muslim world. Investigating key beliefs, sacred places and inspiring artworks, children discover how calligraphy, geometry and pattern are used in Islamic art before creating their own artwork using traditional techniques.

We are always excited to work with schools, so get in touch today!
