Many pupils will already be familiar with the Summer Reading Challenge. The Secret Book Quest continues that reading journey throughout the year, offering children the opportunity to read for pleasure at their own pace while discovering new books, authors
and genres.
Children taking part receive a Secret Book Quest booklet and travel through 10 themed zones, collecting stickers as they read. To complete the challenge, they read 50 books, earn certificates at key milestones and receive a special finisher's prize.
The challenge is free to join through any Bradford Library and supports schools in encouraging reading for pleasure, independent reading and wider engagement with books.
Schools are encouraged to share the accompanying parent letter and display the promotional poster to help raise awareness amongst pupils and families.
