To be completed by: Mon 26 Oct 2026

Time: -Mon 26 Oct 2026 | Venue:

Exceed Academies Trust is inviting parents, carers, local residents and stakeholders to share their views on a proposal to relocate Bradford Alternative Provision Academy (BAPA) Cityview to a new site former Holmewood Children's Centre, Haslemere Close, Bradford, BD4 9EB.

Bradford Alternative Provision Academy (BAPA) provides a safe, secure and inclusive learning environment for young people who have been permanently excluded from school, supporting them to gain the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to succeed in education and society. The academy works closely with Bradford Council to meet the needs of vulnerable children and young people requiring alternative provision.

BAPA currently operates across five sites: Aireview in Saltaire, Jesse Street in Fairweather Green, Cityview in Bowling, and the two satellite provisions, The Loft and The Bungalow, located at Holybrook Primary School and Bowling Park Primary School.

Why Are We Consulting?

Before an academy trust can make a significant change to one of its academies, it must submit an application to the Department for Education (DfE) the Regional Department for Education (DfE) Directors. Significant changes may affect where school places are delivered and can have an impact on the local educational environment. As part of this process, Exceed Academies Trust is required to undertake a fair and open consultation with stakeholders before any decision is made.

What Are We Consulting On?

Cityview was established in 2025 to respond to increasing demand for alternative provision places in Bradford. The current site at Anerley Street, BD4 7SY, was always intended as a temporary solution while a longer-term location was identified. The proposal is to relocate Cityview from its current site at Anerley Street to the former Holmewood Children's Centre, Haslemere Close, Bradford, BD4 9EB. There is no proposal to increase capacity, with the existing 32 pupil places transferring to the new location.

How Would the Move Be Delivered?

Subject to approval by the Department for Education, Cityview would relocate once refurbishment works at the former Holmewood Children's Centre have been completed, currently anticipated for 2027. Bradford Council will lead and fund the necessary building works to ensure the site is suitable for alternative provision use.
