If you're 16-19 years old (or up to 25 with an EHC Plan or equivalent), and interested in the creative, technical or business side of film and television, you could be part of BFI Film Academy Yorkshire & The Humber, delivered by Leeds Young Film in partnership with Showroom Cinema. We connect young people aged 16-25 looking to get started in the film and TV industry with training opportunities, industry connections and career support.

Our BFI Film Academy Introductory Courses in Leeds & Bradford offer you a hands-on, collaborative filmmaking experience. You'll have fun with filmmaking processes, meet like-minded people, and gain confidence as you learn from expert industry mentors and filmmakers to work as part of a short film crew with training for all the roles involved in filmmaking. You will be making a short film from start to finish, including writing, producing, editing, and presenting your work on the big screen.

No experience needed and it's free to take part (with bursaries for travel and childcare available).
