We are pleased to share details of a fully funded adult learning opportunity available through Skills for Work, which may be of interest to members of your school community, including parents and carers, support staff, and individuals seeking to strengthen their administrative and digital skills.

The Customer Service & Business Support Skills for the Workplace course offers a practical and supportive route into office-based and customer facing roles, helping individuals to develop the skills and knowledge used in modern workplaces.

This course is ideal for people who want to start, return to, or progress within an office/customer facing environment, including business, public sector and third sector settings.

What the course offers

Learners will gain hands-on experience in both administrative and customer-facing roles, helping them to build confidence in face-to-face interactions while developing effective communication and problem-solving skills. This will be supported by the use of digital tools and systems commonly found in modern workplace environments. Practical skills developed throughout the course are transferable across a range of industries, enhancing learner adaptability and overall confidence in a professional setting.

Who Is the Course Suitable For?

This course is fully funded and suitable for learners who are:

  • Aged 19 or over
  • Looking for office-based work or a career change into administration/customer service roles
  • Employed, unemployed, or returning to work
  • Able to commit to 80 guided learning hours (1 day per week for 10 weeks)
  • Competent in English Language and ICT to minimum Level 1 standard

  • Face-to-face delivery at Skills for Work premises in Bradford city centre
  • Fully funded, subject to eligibility criteria
  • Strong focus on practical, workplace-relevant activities
