The Education Programme invites leading writers, performance poets, illustrators, scientists, historians, journalists, among many others, to share their skills through live shows, performances and interactive workshops, iin a way that buils upon and expands
the National Curriculum.
The 2026 programme will take place from Wednesday 24 June to Friday 10 July 2026.
Each day features exciting events, following a curriculum-targeted theme, aimed at a particular key stage or age range, championing an inclusive curriculum that fosters different perspectives on taught topics.
Our themes for 2026 range from Ancient Egypt to Shakespeare, Dystopia & Utopia to Stand Up and Be Counted, as well as events exploring life Under the Sea, Performance
Poetry, and more!
Each student ticket for the Education Programme is worth £25, but BLF is pleased to offer attendance for free to non-fee-paying schools, education groups and home educators across the North. Teachers, course leaders, and parents or carers
who home educate children can register and book for events. BLF also welcomes fee-paying schools to enjoy this fantastic opportunity at a set ticket price per student.
