Ben Rhydding Primary School have received an agreement in principle to join Moorlands Learning Trust by the DFE. From 29th April to 20th May, a 3 week consultation period is taking place to allow an opportunity for any stakeholders and the local community
to raise any views or questions before final approval is considered. Please see below more information outlining this in more detail and how to take part in the consultation.
The school has applied to the Department for Education to become an academy, with a view to joining
Moorlands Learning Trust (MLT). We are now opening a formal consultation, to seek your views on our school becoming an academy and joining Moorlands Learning Trust.
Our decision to become an academy is very much a positive one and most important in our judgement of course are the potential benefits to our children, staff and the wider community. We believe it to be in our school’s best interests to work within a trust
which respects schools’ individual identities and shares our own ethos. We also believe that our work in shaping the next steps of MLT’s development with local primary schools will be mutually beneficial in upholding the highest possible standards, enabling
each of our children to flourish during their time with us before transitioning successfully to the next stage of their education.
Becoming part of a Multi Academy Trust will mean that the formal, legal status of our school will change. However, we confirm our school will still retain its unique character, identity and community ethos, with our own Local Governing Board and Headteacher
overseeing the operational running of the school as we do now.
Before proceeding with the conversion, we are inviting you to share your views and ask any questions you may have as part of this formal consultation.
The consultation period will begin on 29th April and end on 20th May (3 weeks), after which point, the Governing Board will consider all responses received as part of their final decision on academisation. Any comments and questions
can be sent by email to: office@benrhydding.bradford.sch.uk or sent by post to the school marked ‘Academy Consultation’.
