The Education Access Team will deliver 2 dates of 'An introduction to working with Refugees and Asylum Seeking children in schools'.

The training covers the following topics:

(1) The definitions and differences between these groups.

(2) Where sanctuary seekers flee from and the reason why.

(3) The challenges and barriers these groups may face.

(4) Key support agencies and resources to tap into.

(5) Best practice in schools – including breaking down barriers to learning, quality EAL provision and specialist models of wider school support.

 

Lastly, there will opportunities for Q & A’s, interactive activity as well as follow up personalized guidance and resources (if requested).
