Young people are bursting with ideas to make their lives happier and healthier. The Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, has launched a ‘big ideas challenge’ to harness the incredible potential of the region’s 16–26-year-olds.

The challenge is a unique learning programme designed to help young people in West Yorkshire build innovative problem-solving skills and tackle local issues that matter to them.

Through a completely free and unique experience, with a focus on making local life better, the selected young people will develop new skills, meet new people and create ideas that will benefit them and their communities in the future.

The programme will help participants identify problems they care about, explore their ideas using research and design, and confidently pitch their solutions.

Participants can win prizes while adding unique experience to their CVs, portfolios and skillsets.

The window to apply is open now and closes on 10 April 2025.
