Bradford Museums and Galleries are recruiting young ambassadors to help showcase Bradford’s historic heritage, renowned fine art collection and connections to everyone living in Bradford.

Can You Be Museum Young Ambassador?

Bradford Museums and Galleries are recruiting Young Ambassadors to help showcase Bradford’s historic heritage, renowned fine art collection and connections to everyone living in Bradford.

The role:

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Access behind the scenes at all 4 museums.
  • Training and support from experienced Museums staff.
  • Learn about other events and opportunities.
  • Participate in meetings.
  • Create tours, face to face and virtually.
  • Have your voice heard regarding the future of our museums.
  • Give visitor demonstrations.
  • Facilitate visits.
  • Curate new clubs and activities.
  • Shadow and support staff and projects.
  • Be our digital voice and diary on TikTok, Snapchat and other platforms.
  • Create film, blogs, vlogs for our website.
  • Become a Lead Ambassador.

You will learn new skills. These could include social media marketing, planning, and running events, or budgeting. The skills you learn will be things that you can include on a future CV, and you will gain referees for future job references. Above all, you will have fun, make friends, and gain confidence.

Time Commitment:

  • A few hours to prepare for and attend meetings every month (you can attend virtually)
  • Additional time to be involved in extra projects throughout the year too.

Role Duration:

  • February 2024 to January 2025

Salary:

None, this is a voluntary role. Travel expenses will be paid, and snacks and drinks will be provided at meetings.

Who will you meet?

Bradford Museums and Galleries staff including the Head of Museums, Bradford Council departments, volunteer teams and many other cultural partners.

At one of our 4 museums:

  • Bolling Hall Museum, West Bowling
  • Bradford Industrial Museum, Eccleshill
  • Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Lister Park, Manningham
  • Cliffe Castle Museum, Keighley

Recruitment Days: Saturday 10 February 2024 at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery in person and Friday 9 February Virtual recruitment on TEAMS 11am to 3pm.
