The Treasury is the United Kingdom’s economics and finance ministry. We sit at the heart of government and work on issues from environment and tax policy to sustainable growth and supporting public services.
We are responsible for formulating and implementing the government’s Financial and economic policy. Our aim is to raise the rate of sustainable growth and achieve rising prosperity and a better quality of life with economic and employment opportunities for

This summer the Treasury is running a virtual Work Experience programme. We are offering successful candidates a week of experience in the Treasury. They will have the opportunity to experience what we work on, how we work and what it’s like to be at the very
heart of government.
The week will include:
• Work-shadowing current Treasury officials
• Seminars and presentations on current issues the Treasury is working on
• The chance to research and report on a project of interest to you
• Mentoring with Treasury officials
• Learning first-hand about future careers in the Treasury
The programme will run virtually from Monday 9 August to Friday 13 August. We encourage applications from students in their final years at college or school (Year 12 and above), from any courses or subjects.
