Join us at Dixons McMillan Academy for this free twilight event on Wednesday 4th December, from 5-6.30, to explore the recommendations of the EEF’s Improving Literacy in Secondary Schools guidance report.

We are delighted to welcome Alex Quigley, co-author of the guidance report, to Dixons McMillan Academy to discuss the recommendations and the evidence behind them, including:

  • Disciplinary Literacy – the importance of subject specific support
  • How to break down complex writing tasks
  • Combining writing instruction with reading instruction
  • Providing opportunities for structured talk

Attendees will receive a copy of the EEF’s improving Literacy in Secondary Schools guidance report. This session will be useful not only for those who lead on literacy, but all subject teachers and leaders.
