The World Cycling Championships come to Yorkshire at the end September. It's one of the biggest sporting events in the UK this year. Bradford will host the Women's Elite Race on the 28th September, starting in City Park. Could you support the GB Team with a short video message from your school?

World Cycling Championships 2019

The 2019 UCI Road World Championships will be held in Harrogate between the 22nd and 29th September 2019.

This is the 92nd UCI Road World Championships, but it’s only the fourth time in the UK.  It's being advertised as the biggest sporting event in the UK this year! The Championships attract riders from 194 National Cycling Federations across the world. Like the Tour de Yorkshire the races take place throughout Yorkshire, but end every day in Harrogate.

Bradford will host the Elite Women’s Race on 28th September. The riders will set off from City Park, travel up Market Street, Manor Row, Manningham Lane, through Lister Park and out to Keighley Road, down Otley Road and on to Baildon, where the race officially starts at Hollins Hill and then leaves the district.

School Message of Support

Could your school record a video message to support the different nations and riders competing? The messages will be played in the Fan Zone in Harrogate during the Championships in front of thousands of fans!

The videos would need to be captured in landscape format and say something along the lines of:

Hello from everyone at XXX School in XXX!

Good luck to all the Great Britain riders who are taking part in the World Championships, we’ll be cheering you on and hope you do really well!

Something along these lines would be great, but we obviously don’t want the exact same message repeated over and over, so you are welcome to come up with your own wording!

If you are feeling especially ambitious, why not do something in other languages too!

Once videos are made, please send them to Euan via WeTransfer at
