We will be working in collaboration with Philip Webb, a Literacy consultant, who has a wide range of experiences in the Bradford context.
This 2 and half day programme will be support by Specialist Leaders in Education (SLE) and Leaders of Excellent Practice (LEP) and will include a half day support visit into your school to support the planning of English.
Day 1 - 14 October 2016
An introduction to a five phase teaching sequence. It will cover engaging shared reading activities and will show how texts can be used to support the teaching of text structure: punctuation and grammar in context and the planning, drafting, editing and
publishing of writing
Day 2 - Date to be arranged between the School and their identified LEP/SLE
Delegates will receive support in their own school from an LEP or SLE to work with them in the planning and delivery of a unit of work.
Day 3 - 26 May 2017
Further input from Philip Webb focussing on updates on curriculum policy, action planning and embedding grammar in the curriculum.
Outcomes:
Participants will be able to plan, teach and assess an effective reading to writing’ teaching sequence using high quality texts.
